Job Summary:
The Clinical Assistant 2 supports patient care in a rural ambulatory clinic, assisting providers with clinical and administrative tasks. This role involves performing more advanced procedures, documenting patient information, and ensuring smooth clinic operations to optimize patient access and provider efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for visits by reviewing charts, obtaining vital signs, and updating medical histories.
• Assist with procedures including specimen collection, Point of Care Testing, nebulizer treatments, cast removal, and minor surgeries.
• Maintain accurate documentation in patient charts, including lab results, medication, and immunization records.
• Set up exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and organize supplies to ensure a safe, clean environment.
• Support patient flow by transporting patients within the facility and assisting with ambulation or transfers.
• Provide basic patient education and discharge instructions as directed by providers.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; current BLS certification required.
• Completion of CMA/MA program or one year of healthcare experience; or equivalent with certifications such as CNA, EMT, or CHA.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinic procedures, and age-appropriate patient care.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills; able to operate medical equipment.
• Ability to recognize urgent conditions and respond appropriately.
