Job Summary:

Provides specialized sleep study testing and patient care to diagnose sleep disorders. Responsible for setup, monitoring, scoring, and documenting sleep studies, ensuring accurate data collection and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and calibrate sleep study equipment, applying electrodes, belts, and sensors accurately.
• Monitor polysomnograms, adjusting as needed and splitting studies based on established criteria.
• Score and review sleep data, identifying sleep disorders such as RERA, hypopnea, and apnea per AASM guidelines.
• Document patient records thoroughly, including test results, therapy responses, side effects, and educational components.
• Communicate with physicians, DME staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and safety.
• Educate patients on the use of oxygen, CPAP, BiPAP, and address questions regarding data or terminology.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Polysomnographic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT) required.
• RPSGT credential must be obtained within 18 months of acquiring CPSGT certification.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sleep study procedures, equipment, and data analysis.
