Job Summary:
This position involves providing high-quality perioperative nursing care in a busy operating room environment. The RN will support a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons with sterile field preparation and equipment management.
• Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia levels, and overall condition throughout the operation.
• Administer medications and blood products as ordered, adhering to safety standards.
• Ensure strict compliance with infection control and safety protocols, including universal precautions.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in electronic health records using EPIC.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NY RN license and minimum of 3 years of OR nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in general OR procedures, including laparoscopic, vascular, neuro, ortho, and thoracic surgeries.
• Maintain BLS certification and competency in phlebotomy and IV placement.
• Possess excellent attention to detail, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• Experienced with EPIC charting system and sterile technique.
• Able to support multiple surgical specialties and adaptable to varying block schedules.
