Job Summary:

The Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist performs a comprehensive range of high-complexity laboratory tests independently, supporting patient care across all age groups. This role requires working in a hospital laboratory, including shift work with nights and weekends, to ensure 24-hour laboratory coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all levels of laboratory testing, including CLIA-defined high complexity analyses, ensuring results' accuracy and reliability.
• Evaluate, interpret, and troubleshoot test results; work collaboratively with team members to resolve technical issues.
• Develop, review, and update laboratory procedures following CLSI standards; coordinate documentation and manual revisions.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring quality control measures are consistently met and instrument functionality.
• Train new staff, oversee competency assessments, and support ongoing education for laboratory personnel.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives, implementing quality standards such as CAP and CLIA regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of one year of progressive clinical laboratory experience or hospital internship.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (AMT), or equivalent credential.
• Knowledge of high-complexity testing procedures, laboratory instrumentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to interpret laboratory data accurately, and effective communication skills.
