Job Description

Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant supports clinical interventions by delivering rehabilitative and skilled treatment to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, they implement therapy plans and monitor patient progress to promote recovery and independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer evidence-based therapeutic interventions including ADL retraining, exercises, modalities, and supportive device use.
  • Assess patient progress and communicate adjustments needed to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Document treatment activities and patient responses accurately in electronic medical records per regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective treatment plans and communicate patient progress.
  • Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, trainings, and compliance activities to maintain professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid COTA license and active State Licensure/Registration.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 1 year of Occupational Therapy Assistant experience.
  • Have LTC or rehab experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and clinical documentation requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Adhere to NBCOT / AOTA and State practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethical standards.
