Job Summary:


The CVICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing specialized cardiac intensive care to postoperative open-heart surgery patients, including managing complex hemodynamic monitoring and critical interventions. They ensure high-quality patient outcomes through direct bedside care and clinical expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Administer continuous monitoring and management of pressure, Swan-Ganz, Impella, and CRRT systems.
  
• Respond promptly to patient needs, including direct open-heart admissions from the OR and acute care situations.
  
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement patient care plans based on acuity and clinical protocols.
  
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in Cerner EMR.
  
• Maintain compliance with certifications, licensing, and institutional policies, including timely submission of documentation.
  
• Participate in shift handovers, contributing to effective team communication and patient safety.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid RN license with WV or Compact credentials, with pending licenses accepted.
  
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in cardiac or critical care settings.
  
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with open-heart admissions, pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz, Impella, and CRRT management.
  
• Hold current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
  
• Be able to complete required modules and certifications prior to start date.
  
• Have no recent probationary actions on license; previous violations will be considered case-by-case.
