Job Summary:

Provide specialized cardiac stepdown nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions. Monitor and manage patients with arrhythmias and administer continuous IV medications, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans for cardiac patients.
• Administer and monitor IV drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin.
• Manage medications such as diuretics, anticoagulants, and insulin drips, ensuring accurate dosing and patient safety.
• Monitor for cardiac arrhythmias, perform cardioversion, and respond to emergent situations in accordance with clinical protocols.
• Document patient care activities accurately in Epic or preferred systems, and communicate effectively using SBAR.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, especially for overflow cases including surgical, vascular, and orthopedic patients.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in Georgia or a compact state at the time of submission.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience managing continuous IV medications in a cardiac or ICU setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Basic knowledge of arrhythmia management, cardioversion, and post-cardiac cath care.
• Ability to respond to call within 2 hours and work rotating shifts, including every other weekend.
• Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools.
