Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to a diverse patient population, primarily Native American, focusing on rehabilitation and improving patients' functional independence across various disabilities. Deliver individualized treatment plans based on thorough assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions to develop tailored occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Administer medically prescribed therapy interventions to promote maximum independence and functional recovery.
- Evaluate patient progress, document outcomes, and modify treatment approaches as necessary.
- Maintain organization and operation of the occupational therapy program, including specialty clinics such as spinal cord, geriatric, and assistive technology.
- Provide training and in-service education for staff and students, ensuring adherence to professional standards and protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and optimize therapy effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program.
- Possess a valid, current license from the American Occupational Therapy Association and Arizona Department of Health Licensure or eligible for licensure in Arizona.
- Maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist, with strong orthopedic skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of occupational therapy scope of practice and adherence to ethics and professional standards.
