Job Details

Job Summary:
Provide compassionate psychiatric nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting. Monitor patient progress, administer medications, and implement treatment plans to support mental health recovery and stability.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient mental health status and identify individual care needs.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update treatment plans.
• Document patient progress and maintain comprehensive medical records.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Alabama or Compact RN license at the time of application.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent psychiatric nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Have current BLS certification; CPI certification preferred.
• Experience working in large healthcare facilities is preferred.
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and travel requirements.
