Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a telemetry/stepdown unit, ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced, acute care environment. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments including Cardizem, amiodarone, Bumex, Lasix, Integrillin, octreotide, and Protonix.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, validating nurse techs’ assessments and documenting findings regularly.
• Respond to patient needs, manage vents and high-flow oxygen therapy for COVID-19 patients, and support respiratory protocols.
• Collaborate with hospital staff including hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy to coordinate care.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records.
• Float to other MedSurg units as needed to support staffing levels and patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with 1-2 years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably in telemetry or stepdown units.
• Demonstrate proficiency with cardiac monitoring, telemetry equipment, and critical care procedures.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend (days and nights).
• Capable of managing 3-4 patients per shift in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
