Job Summary:

Occupational Therapy Assistants in this role provide specialized therapy services within a large multidisciplinary hospital team, focusing on helping patients regain functional abilities and independence. They collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services aligned with established treatment plans.
• Document patient progress and clinical notes accurately using hospital-based EMR systems.
• Conduct patient and family education on therapy regimens and post-discharge care.
• Participate actively in team meetings to promote effective communication and collaboration.
• Manage a daily caseload to meet productivity standards and achieve billable units.
• Support a positive, solution-focused work environment aligned with organizational values.

Qualifications:

• Hold a degree from an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
• Maintain active state licensure or eligibility in Maryland.
• Possess at least one year of acute hospital care experience.
• Have experience facilitating group therapy sessions (preferred).
• Demonstrate proficiency in EMR documentation and strong communication skills.
• Be certified in Basic Life Support through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
