Job Description
Job Summary:
The MRI Tech is responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images that assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. They must demonstrate proficiency across various clinical settings, ensuring safety and image quality.
Responsibilities:
- Operate MRI equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images for adult and pediatric patients.
- Prepare contrast media and administer as required, including starting peripheral IVs.
- Adhere to isolation precautions and equipment protocols across multiple MRI systems, including GE, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, ensuring protocol compliance in both outpatient and acute care environments.
- Float to other units or campuses as needed, performing all tasks for which trained and qualified.
- Complete all mandatory modules and documentation within specified timeframes and ensure EMR documentation accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active ARRT(R)(MRI) certification and BLS certification.
- Possess at least 1 year of recent MRI experience in clinical settings.
- Demonstrate proficiency with contrast media preparation and administration.
- Experience operating MRI units and PACS imaging systems.
- Capable of performing imaging procedures of the head, neck, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and musculoskeletal trauma.
- Valid SCQRSA license or equivalent required; pending licenses are not accepted.
