Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery unit provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. This role involves assessing and monitoring both mother and neonate, coordinating care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate the health status of laboring patients and neonates using objective and subjective data.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, including patient education and counseling on childbirth and postpartum care.
• Administer medications, assist with procedures, and respond effectively to emergencies to stabilize patient conditions.
• Document all clinical interventions, patient responses, and education accurately in the medical record.
• Communicate vital information verbally and in writing to physicians and team members regarding patient status.
• Support nursery staff in caring for mother-baby pairs and assist with postpartum education.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active, valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado.
• Have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Possess a minimum of an Associate’s Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications; ACLS certification preferred.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills.
