Job Description
Job Summary:
Seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety. The candidate will operate advanced equipment, maintain compliance with regulations, and collaborate with medical staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scans, following established protocols.
- Conduct quality control, troubleshooting, and maintenance of nuclear medicine equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document all procedures, including radioactive material receipt/disposition, quality control data, and patient records.
- Confer with physicians to determine appropriate imaging techniques and ensure effective operations.
- Provide clinical training and mentorship to radiology students and residents, sharing expertise and latest advancements.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, implementing internal controls to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 24 months of current Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
- Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Medical Board.
- Certification from ARRT in Nuclear Medicine (N) or CNMT within 6 months of hire.
- Proven proficiency with Siemens and Spectrum Imaging equipment.
- Ability to perform intramuscular and intravenous injections and operate Gamma cameras, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners.
- Strong understanding of chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biomedical sciences related to nuclear medicine.
