Job Description
Job Summary:
A Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing and administering radioactive medications and operating imaging equipment to visualize and monitor radiation within patients’ bodies. This role supports diagnostic procedures and ensures accurate imaging results for patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
Responsibilities:
- Administer radioactive materials to patients according to prescribed protocols.
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment with precision and safety.
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure comfort and safety.
- Maintain detailed records of administered radiopharmaceuticals and procedural data.
- Follow all regulatory and safety guidelines related to radioactive materials.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to interpret imaging results.
Qualifications:
- Hold valid certification and licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Demonstrate experience with nuclear medicine imaging procedures, typically minimum of 6 months.
- Possess active certifications such as NIH Certification or equivalent.
- Comply with all safety and radiation protection protocols.
- Exhibit excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Be able to work flexible hours including potential on-call shifts.
