Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive bedside nursing care to patients in the emergency room, ensuring timely, safe, and effective treatment in a fast-paced environment. Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes while adhering to organizational policies and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments to optimize outcomes.
• Prioritize patient care tasks, exercise critical thinking, and exercise decisive judgment in urgent situations.
• Comply with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines to ensure effective communication and record-keeping.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Educate patients and families on their conditions, medications, and follow-up care, tailored to their age, culture, and literacy levels.
• Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to ancillary personnel and mentor student nurses or new staff when applicable.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC, STABLE, and NRP certifications required within specified timeframes.
• Minimum of two years hospital nursing experience, with at least one year in Emergency Department or Critical Care preferred.
• Successfully pass background checks, drug screenings, and meet Employee Health requirements.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills, with a commitment to ethical standards in nursing practice.
