Job Summary:

Experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse responsible for providing specialized critical care to pediatric patients up to 25 years old. This role involves managing complex medical conditions and ensuring the safety and well-being of young patients in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive pediatric critical care nursing to patients requiring specialized medical interventions.
• Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms, administer inotropes, and respond promptly to emergency situations.
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Follow facility protocols for medication administration, including safe medication practices per certification standards.
• Complete required certifications and assessments, including ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate training.
• Adhere to travel compliance standards, including license verification, background checks, and drug screenings.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Ohio license or a compact license recognized in Ohio at the time of submission.
• Possess a minimum of 18 months of permanent pediatric or PICU experience prior to travel assignment.
• Have current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS; NIHHS preferred.
• Demonstrate recent experience with epilepsy monitoring, inotropes, and EKG interpretation.
• Successfully pass ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate assessments during orientation.
• Be willing to work at least every other holiday shift.
