Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across all surgical specialties.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients pre-operatively to determine their readiness and identify potential risks.
• Plan and implement individualized nursing care plans tailored to surgical patients.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and interpret diagnostic tests during surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Maintain a sterile environment, manage surgical equipment, and adhere to aseptic techniques.
• Educate patients and their families about perioperative processes and post-operative care instructions.

Qualifications:

• Successfully completed a nursing program from a NLN-accredited institution; Associate Degree required, BSN preferred.
• Licensed and in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Alaska.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of OR or perioperative nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification; PALS preferred.
• Knowledge of AORN standards, medical terminology, and surgical procedures.
• Proficient in communication, patient care procedures, and clinical documentation.
