Job Description

Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Tech is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials to help diagnose various medical conditions. They operate specialized equipment and ensure safety protocols are strictly followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform outpatient and inpatient nuclear medicine imaging procedures, including Cardiac, Bone Scan, HIDA, Muga Scan, Renogram, Liver/Spleen, and Infection Imaging.
  • Operate SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanning equipment, including Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG), Dotatate, and PSMA tracers.
  • Prepare and administer radioactive materials, maintain documentation, and ensure proper handling and disposal.
  • Assist with therapies such as I-131, Xofigo, and Lutathera while adhering to safety standards.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, provide patient education, and document imaging results accurately.
  • Maintain equipment calibration and ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • ARRT Nuclear Medicine (NMTCB) or ARRT Radiologic Technologist (R) certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in nuclear medicine imaging.
  • Valid state license; PET license preferred.
  • Ability to perform venous blood draws, IV starts, and blood handling.
  • Knowledge of PACS, radioactive materials handling, and radiation safety protocols.
