Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Certified Surgical Technologist supports the surgical team by preparing and maintaining sterile fields, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the operative process.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all supplies are ready for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgical team members by passing instruments and supplies efficiently and safely.
• Maintain a sterile environment before and during surgeries to prevent infection.
• Conduct accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure procedural safety.
• Follow age-specific protocols and participate in ongoing training and competency assessments.
• Adhere to safety procedures, including correct site verification, fire safety, and equipment checks.

Qualifications:

• Credentialed Surgical Technician certification required.
• Proven experience assisting in surgical procedures within an operating room setting.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and infection control protocols.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Current certifications in CPR and related safety training.
