Job Description
Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Clinical Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional care within a hospital setting. The role involves evaluating patients, developing care plans, and delivering education to support optimal health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and conduct timely evaluations of high-risk patients, including those on enteral and parenteral nutrition, ensuring adherence to hospital policies.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on patient assessments, medical history, lab results, and nutritional needs.
- Educate patients on therapeutic diets considering age, cultural, religious, and lifestyle factors, and evaluate counseling effectiveness.
- Provide outpatient dialysis services, including evaluations, treatment planning, and coordination with outside agencies.
- Calculate and modify therapeutic diets and menus, serving as a resource for Food & Nutrition Services staff and dietetic technicians.
- Mentor and train medical students, interns, and hospital staff; participate in educational activities and hospital committees.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, food, and nutrition, with completion of a dietetic internship. Master’s degree and Academy membership preferred.
- Maintain registration as a dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration; eligibility to complete registration within three months of hire accepted.
- Licensed to practice dietetics in Ohio through the Ohio Board of Dietetics.
- Possess at least one year of hospital-based dietitian experience; specialty certifications desirable.
- Demonstrate competency in managing nutritional care for diverse patient populations, including age-specific and cultural needs.
