Job Summary:

Supports eye care services by performing clinical, optical, and administrative tasks tailored to patients of all ages. Develops skills as an optometry assistant through hands-on experience and self-training, ensuring comprehensive patient care and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Screen patients and prepare them for provider assessments, including optical and point-of-care lab testing.
• Assist patients with optical orders, including benefits verification, frame selection, measurements, and order entry.
• Manage inventory, including ordering, cleaning, returns, and frame placement.
• Acquire ocular imaging such as photos, OCT, visual fields, and topography, then document images in medical records.
• Provide administrative support by scheduling patients, answering phones, and facilitating referrals with providers and clinics.

Qualifications:

• Hold a High School Diploma or GED.
• Possess BLS certification.
• Bring at least one year of medical assistant experience.
• Demonstrate customer service and attention to detail skills.
• Capable of clear communication and timely documentation.
