Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing facility setting. The therapist will provide comprehensive care to patients across a skilled nursing unit on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing functions to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy programs to improve communication skills and swallowing safety.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and progress.
  • Document assessment findings, treatment goals, and progress notes accurately and timely.
  • Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to support ongoing communication enhancement.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Qualifications:

  • Valid state license or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Proven experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
  • Strong assessment and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care.
