Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Laboratory Scientist conducts laboratory testing and analysis of patient specimens to support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. This role ensures adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements while delivering professional patient-centered service.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain, receive, process, and analyze laboratory specimens to generate precise results.
• Perform testing across Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Blood Gas, and Phlebotomy.
• Identify abnormal or critical test results and communicate findings to the Pathologist as needed.
• Maintain, operate, and monitor laboratory equipment, ensuring safety and proper functionality.
• Follow quality control procedures and adhere to laboratory quality assurance guidelines.
• Demonstrate competency in phlebotomy for patients of all ages and uphold infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold current ASCP or AMT certification.
• Complete an accredited MLT/CLS or MT/MLS program with an associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant science discipline.
• Possess one to three months of related laboratory experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory standards (IDPH, OSHA, CMS, HIPAA).
• Show strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and professional communication skills.
