Job Summary:
Provide specialized critical care nursing services to neuro ICU patients, managing complex neurological conditions and providing comprehensive patient care. Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver advanced nursing care to neuro ICU patients, including monitoring neurological status and managing critical interventions.
• Administer titratable drips such as Levophed, phenylephrine, versed, paralytics, heparin, insulin, and nicardipine, ensuring accurate dosages and patient safety.
• Assess and respond to patient needs, including stroke, dialysis, head bleeds, ventric/evd, and neuro disorders requiring intensive care.
• Collaborate with physicians, RTs, and nurse aides to coordinate care and ensure efficient unit operation.
• Maintain documentation of patient care and clinical observations in compliance with hospital protocols.
• Support unit operations during shifts, including holiday and weekend coverage, and participate in scheduling adjustments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with state board accreditation.
• Minimum of ICU or critical care nursing experience, preferably in neuro or neurological ICU.
• Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Ability to titrate and manage titratable drips and critical care equipment.
• Strong assessment skills and the capacity to recognize neurological changes promptly.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
