Job Summary:
The registered nurse in the PACU provides specialized peri-anesthesia care to postoperative patients, ensuring safe recovery from anesthesia and surgical procedures. They deliver individualized nursing assessments and interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes from admission through discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' vital signs, airway, and neurological status to monitor recovery progression.
• Administer medications, including anesthesia reversal agents, and evaluate their effects and side effects.
• Implement airway management and emergency protocols as needed to address complications.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and responses accurately in accordance with peri-anesthesia standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and adjust individualized care plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and certification requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid California RN license with current Nursys verification submitted within the last 2 weeks.
• BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS certifications with valid expiration dates.
• Minimum of 2 years of PACU RN experience in a high-acuity hospital setting.
• Knowledge of peri-anesthesia standards, airway management, and pharmacology.
• Cath Lab experience preferred.
• Ability to perform under pressure with strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
