Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides professional nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring safe and effective childbirth experiences. Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care and support maternal health.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs related to labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Document patient progress and care interventions accurately in the healthcare record.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to team members based on their credentials and competencies.
- Promote a safe, supportive environment for mothers and newborns throughout the perinatal process.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist with emergency situations, including complicated deliveries and neonatal resuscitation, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current and valid Registered Nurse license in Washington state.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications must be current and all required for the specialty.
- Demonstrate proficiency with electronic health record systems, including Epic (unit-specific).
- Willing to float within the health system and work variable shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Pending licenses are accepted; must submit proof of licensure application if applicable.
