Job Summary:
Assists during surgical procedures by maintaining the sterile field and providing instrumentation support to the surgical team. Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety and uphold high-quality perioperative care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and verify all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures, ensuring proper sterilization and function.
• Maintain the sterile field by monitoring for contamination and taking immediate corrective actions when necessary.
• Assist in patient transports, room turnovers, and preparation to facilitate smooth surgical operations.
• Communicate effectively with the perioperative team, participating in Time Out processes, briefings, and debriefings.
• Clean, organize, and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development by staying current with new technologies, techniques, and instrumentation.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or licensed Surgical Technologist license in Colorado required.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required.
• Must possess or obtain computer skills to access online learning, forms, and policies within 90 days.
• Strong knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly, work under stress, and perform manual tasks effectively.
