Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides expert nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures utilizing specialized equipment, ensuring patient safety and accurate diagnostic results.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Nuclear Medicine equipment to perform organ imaging, function studies, and therapeutic radioisotope procedures.
- Prepare, administer, and calibrate radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive tracers in compliance with safety regulations.
- Evaluate medical images using PACS workstation to confirm accurate identification and diagnostic quality.
- Maintain detailed records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal, adhering to federal and state regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols, including radiation protection measures for patients and staff.
- Perform clerical tasks such as patient scheduling, data entry in EPIC and related systems, and rotating between departmental assignments.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid NJDEP license and ARRT or NMTCB certification.
- Possess a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a busy hospital setting as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proficient in using nuclear medicine equipment including Digirad camera, Nuctrac, and Philips reporting system.
- Demonstrate excellent patient communication skills and attention to safety and detail.
