Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care in the IMC, PCU, or Stepdown unit, focusing on patients requiring close monitoring and skillful interventions. Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to promote patient recovery and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ conditions to develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy where applicable, following certification requirements.
• Complete necessary oncology courses, such as ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy, for chemotherapy administration.
• Monitor patient responses to treatments, especially for patients on chemotherapy infusions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, especially concerning chemotherapy procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license and current state licensure.
• Experience in oncology, IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units preferred.
• Certification in ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy or OCN certification highly desirable.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to complete unit-specific oncology courses and orientation.
• Proficiency in administering medications and chemotherapy safely.
