Job Summary:
Assists the surgical team in preparing and maintaining sterile conditions within the operating room to ensure efficient and safe surgical procedures. Takes responsibility for setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment, and supports surgeons during surgeries.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare for each surgical case by verifying required supplies and equipment are available and functional.
• Assemble and set up operative instrumentation and sterile fields for swift retrieval and utilization during procedures.
• Maintain accurate and thorough instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts in coordination with nursing staff.
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper sterilization of equipment and facilities post-procedure.
• Transport patients safely according to unit schedules and priorities.
• Perform clerical duties, including labeling solutions and managing supplies, to support operative workflow.

Qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or GED; associate’s or technical degree preferred.
• Demonstrate at least six months of operating room experience or completing a scrub tech course.
• Hold a surgery technician certification (preferred).
• Maintain current CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor.
• Demonstrate proficiency in aseptic techniques, sterile field setup, and instrument management.
• Compliance with facility-specific licensing and certification requirements.
