Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology procedures. Supervises and coordinates the clinical activities of the Cath Lab/EP team, ensuring patient safety and quality care delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient condition pre- and post-procedure to identify potential complications.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, electrocardiograms, and other relevant data during procedures.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery processes, and post-discharge instructions.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to team members and coordinate care activities within the Cath Lab/EP department.
- Participate in discharge planning and ensure continuity of care for cardiac patients.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current RN license in the state of practice.
- Possess a minimum of two years recent experience in cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology nursing.
- Maintain current BLS certification, with ACLS certification preferred.
- Have EPIC electronic health record system experience.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking, patient assessment, and communication skills.
