Job Summary:
The L&D RN provides specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The nurse monitors maternal and neonatal vital signs, supports mothers through childbirth, and collaborates with physicians to ensure safe, effective patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery.
• Monitor fetal heart rates and progress using appropriate fetal monitoring techniques.
• Provide emotional support and coaching to mothers during labor and birth.
• Administer medications and interventions such as epidurals, IV medications, and magnesium as prescribed.
• Assist physicians with procedures including C-sections and other interventions.
• Educate new mothers on breastfeeding and postpartum care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Illinois RN license active at the time of submission.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent labor and delivery experience.
• Maintain current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications.
• Have previous travel or short-term staffing experience preferred.
• Include Illinois Nurse Agency license in submission profile, as required by state regulations.
