Job Description
Job Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for providing comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic services to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and adults. They work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to enhance patients' communication and swallowing abilities, ensuring quality care in various settings.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients through clinical evaluations, case histories, and diagnostic testing.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Coordinate care by collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families on therapy techniques, home programs, and strategies to promote independence.
- Document clinical encounters, treatment outcomes, and progress in accordance with facility policies.
- Supervise support staff, students, or interns as assigned, and contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Possess CCC-SLP certification and valid licensure from the State of Alaska.
- Demonstrate experience in outpatient and pediatric therapy services.
- Maintain current Basic Life Support certification.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and cultural sensitivity skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage diverse patient needs.
