Job Summary:
Provide compassionate patient care on a psychiatric unit caring for adult patients with conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression. Support nursing staff by performing routine duties and ensuring patient safety and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct safety and room checks to monitor patient condition.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and blood glucose levels as scheduled.
• Assist with ADLs and directly observe patient care, including rounding every 15 minutes.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood draws with prior experience.
• Support nursing staff by assisting with patient care and documentation.
• Monitor and respond to patient needs, employing de-escalation techniques to minimize restraint use.

Qualifications:

• Current certification in BLS, PCT, and de-escalation training.
• Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing assistant experience.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy and IM injections.
• Strong observation and patient safety skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Prior experience working with adult psychiatric populations preferred.
