Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality maternal care tailored to patient needs.
Responsibilities:
- Administer direct patient care before, during, and after labor and delivery.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs using electronic fetal monitoring equipment.
- Perform procedures including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hyst.
- Support patients through labor and provide emotional reassurance.
- Document patient progress and procedures accurately in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and support staff to coordinate care.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid RN license with at least 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience.
- Demonstrate proficiency in high-risk obstetrical care and use of fetal monitoring technology.
- Possess current BLS/ALS certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) credentials.
- Show ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with adaptability.
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
- Outgoing, friendly, and adaptable personality.
