Job Description
Job Summary:
The Polysomnographer/Sleep Tech is responsible for performing sleep disorders testing, including setting up and monitoring sleep studies, evaluating polysomnograms, and providing patient education. This role involves operating sleep lab equipment and ensuring accurate diagnostic processes while delivering compassionate patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and monitor sleep disorder tests following established protocols.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain sleep lab equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Score and evaluate polysomnograms to assist physicians with diagnosis.
- Educate patients about sleep testing procedures, equipment, and treatment options.
- Provide detailed diagnostic reports and communicate results to physicians and outreach accounts.
- Incorporate cultural and age-appropriate communication and care into all patient interactions.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an AMA-approved school for respiratory care or nursing.
- Hold Montana Licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse.
- Obtain American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Certified as a Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT).
- Preferably possess 24+ months of experience in sleep disorder testing, including EEG if applicable.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a busy environment.
