Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit with a focus on cardiac patient stabilization and monitoring. Ensure efficient patient management and maintain compliance with hospital protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer primary nursing care to cardiac patients, including telemetry monitoring and assessment.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips to detect arrhythmias and other cardiac issues.
• Monitor fingerstick blood sugar levels and document findings accurately.
• Utilize medical equipment such as BIPAP, continuous cardiac monitors, Meditech charting, and Pyxis medication system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float to various acute hospital units as needed.
• Follow scheduled shift hours with no guaranteed hours and adhere to unit dress code in scrubs.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Hawaii license prior to start date; apply immediately upon acceptance if not currently licensed.
• Minimum of 1 year recent hospital acute care experience, including telemetry and progressive care.
• Demonstrate proficiency in primary nursing, telemetry monitoring, and equipment usage.
• Possess current certifications such as BLS; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Maintain NIHSS certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to float across various hospital departments, including ICU, surgical, pediatric, and ER units.
