Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a collaborative rehabilitation team in a skilled nursing facility. The successful candidate will work closely with licensed therapists and medical staff to deliver patient-centered care and help residents regain independence, in a scenic California Central Coast setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Implement individualized treatment plans to enhance ADL performance, functional mobility, and cognitive function.
- Document treatments accurately using electronic medical records in compliance with facility standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members on patient progress and discharge planning.
- Educate patients, caregivers, and staff on adaptive equipment, safety strategies, and home modifications.
- Participate in care conferences and team meetings to coordinate treatment and ensure patient needs are met.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current California COTA license or eligibility.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred; motivated new graduates encouraged.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to complete documentation in Net Health per facility standards.
