Job Summary:

Responsible for providing specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery or diagnostic procedures. Ensures patient safety, stability, and comfort through skilled assessment and interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' vitals, pain levels, and overall condition upon admission and throughout recovery.
• Administer medications, provide wound care, and perform procedures such as lab draws and catheterizations as needed.
• Monitor ventilator settings and operate standard PACU equipment to maintain airway and breathing.
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Cerner system.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies, including airway or hemodynamic instability.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with minimum 2 years of PACU and trauma experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience with ventilator monitoring and NIH Stroke Scale.
• Demonstrated ability to perform procedures such as lab draws and catheterizations.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including call shifts within a 6-week schedule.
