Job Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (ICU) provides high-acuity nursing care in an intensive care float pool setting, supporting critical patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The role includes floating to stepdown, medical-surgical/telemetry/PCU, overflow units, and overflow PACU as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct bedside care for critically ill patients, including continuous assessment and response to changing conditions.
- Administer medications and titratable therapies per protocol, maintaining accurate documentation and communication.
- Monitor vital signs, hemodynamics, ventilatory status, and diagnostic results to support timely clinical decisions.
- Perform comprehensive nursing care for ICU-level needs while ensuring safe transitions when floating to other units.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and other team members to coordinate care plans.
- Support infection prevention practices and maintain patient safety standards in high-acuity environments.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active California RN license in hand at submission (no pending or temporary licenses).
- Maintain current ACLS and BLS certifications; complete NIH training as required.
- Possess at least 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
- Demonstrate prior PA line experience, which will be assessed during screening.
- Bring experience in a large hospital setting and be prepared for float assignments.
- Provide two supervisor-or-higher references from within the past 1 year of employment.
