Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical) provides direct patient care in a 52-bed unit with a focus on post-operative and general medical diagnoses. The RN manages a full patient assignment, coordinates support staff, and applies evidence-based practice for neuro and medical workflows, including NIHSS assessments.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for med-surg and post-operative patients across orthopedic and basic neuro procedures
• Perform NIHSS assessments and monitor neurologic status as indicated
• Administer ordered therapies and manage select infusions (e.g., heparin; rare intermittent therapies)
• Coordinate daily patient care with charge leadership, clinical assistants, and CNA team members
• Monitor respiratory support needs, including intermittent BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow oxygen as required
• Collaborate with in-house RT, IV team, pharmacy, and hospital medicine/intensive support for timely interventions

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license with an unexpired driver’s license for onboarding requirements
• Maintain current BLS certification and provide proof at submission
• Demonstrate med-surg experience, including post-operative care and neurologic monitoring workflows
• Possess NIHSS competency or readiness to complete/perform NIHSS assessments
• Prefer prior experience supporting hemodialysis patients, including peritoneal dialysis experience
• Hold ACLS certification (preferred/bonus)
