Job Description
Job Summary:
The job is for a Certified OR Tech (Surgical) serving as a Surgical Technologist II and key perioperative team member. The role primarily supports the scrub position for surgical and endoscopic procedures while assisting anesthesia personnel and supporting safe, quality patient care across the perioperative continuum.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the OR using physician preference lists and coordinate specialty table setup.
- Secure and stage instruments, supplies, and equipment using sterile technique, including opening sterile packages.
- Provide scrub services for minor procedures and scrub major cases across at least three surgical services.
- Assist surgeons as directed (e.g., retractors/instruments, camera holding, specimen care, and site suctioning/sponging).
- Set up specialized surgical equipment under RN supervision and support anesthesia personnel as needed.
- Complete postoperative duties including OR sanitation, instrument/processor support, and patient transfer assistance.
Qualifications:
- Hold BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC accepted).
- Earn CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential preferred.
- Demonstrate at least 2 years of recent acute care surgical technologist experience with competency in major procedures across multiple specialties.
- Exhibit proficiency in ophthalmology with cataract and vitrectomy surgical experience.
- Show experience supporting ortho, neuro, robotics, and ophthalmology cases.
- Maintain the ability to function in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the perioperative team.
