Job Summary:

The BACKFILL - TRAVEL - RN - ICU - COST CENTER (650) position provides high-acuity nursing care within an ICU setting, supporting patients requiring advanced life support and critical interventions. The role emphasizes safe clinical decision-making, strong communication, and adherence to established documentation and patient-experience standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and document patient status in real time using Meditech.
• Manage ventilator and sedation therapies while maintaining evidence-based safety practices.
• Administer and titrate medications according to provider orders and patient response.
• Perform and assist with ICU procedures including trach-related care, bronchoscopy support, and cardioversion assistance.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to support 2:1 patient ratios effectively.
• Follow patient-experience standards including AIDET and medication teaching with completion of communication boards.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license (Registered Nurse).
• Maintain BLS and ACLS certification.
• Demonstrate advanced ICU skills in ventilator/sedation management and medication titration.
• Provide ICU experience with trauma-level readiness and rapid problem-solving in urgent situations.
• Exhibit a strong positive attitude, teamwork, and adaptability in rotation-based coverage.
• Maintain competence with ICU technologies such as GE monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Drager ventilators.
