Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum. Responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring positive outcomes for mothers and newborns with an emphasis on safety and family support.

Responsibilities:

• Assess the physical and emotional needs of women in labor and delivery, including neonate stabilization.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessments, incorporating patient education and support.
• Administer medications, monitor fetal activity, and respond to labor progress to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and neonatal care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interventions and outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Pennsylvania RN license with current registration.
• Demonstrate proficiency in labor and delivery nursing, including neonatal resuscitation.
• Meet the American Heart Association’s standards for BLS, applying for renewal every two years.
• Possess NRP certification, renewed biennially.
• Obtain and maintain ACLS certification as required, renewed every two years.
• Exhibit excellent communication, teamwork, and professional judgment skills.
