Job Summary:
The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation and radioactive substances to patients under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, ensuring safe operation of high voltage machinery and adherence to regulatory guidelines. They play a crucial role in delivering precise treatment plans while maintaining patient safety and professional conduct.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist, following established protocols.
• Enter and maintain accurate patient treatment parameters within electronic medical records.
• Interpret computerized treatment plans to ensure correct administration.
• Monitor patients daily for adverse reactions and promptly report any issues to appropriate medical staff.
• Operate high voltage radiation equipment safely and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols established by NYSDOH, ARRT, and ACRO to ensure a secure environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
• Be licensed as a Radiation Therapist in New York State or be eligible to obtain licensure during onboarding.
• Complete a radiation therapy training program accredited by the AMA and meet ARRT registry requirements.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of relevant radiation therapy experience.
• Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on patient care.
