Job Summary:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient treatment programs to improve mobility and function in accordance with physician orders and industry standards. Provide patient education and support to optimize recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the patient's physical function through formal and informal testing measures to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance, ensuring alignment with prescribed protocols.
• Submit and update written treatment regimes to be included in the plan of care, coordinating with physicians and co-signing verbal orders as necessary.
• Devise and implement treatment schedules, including frequency and duration, discussed with patients, families, and clinical support staff.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding their condition, treatment options, prognosis, and rationale for interventions, utilizing modalities, exercises, and rest as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Active Michigan/MI PT License as verified by LARA or Nursys.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Proven experience in physical therapy, including acute care settings; pediatric experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated skills in assessment, treatment planning, and patient education, with at least one year of pertinent work history.
• Submission of two supervisory reference forms completed within the past two years.
