Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to critically ill or surgical pediatric patients in a PICU setting, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety. Collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive treatment and support to young patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition promptly.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient status, treatments, and medical histories.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Educate patients’ families about care procedures and post-discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NYS RN license and pediatric nursing certification.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent PICU experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with pediatric critical care procedures and equipment.
• Maintain current BLS and PALS certifications.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills.
