Job Summary:

The Cath Lab/EP Cardiovascular Tech I provides essential support during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal operation of equipment. They collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to facilitate complex cardiac interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare sterile trays and organize equipment for each procedure to ensure a sterile environment.
• Assist physicians during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, valvuloplasties, and other invasive procedures.
• Calibrate, test, and maintain transducers and digital imaging systems to guarantee accurate readings and image quality.
• Aid in patient preparation, including applying EKG leads, performing betadine scrubs, and draping the patient per protocol.
• Support emergency measures by assisting in interventions to restore or maintain patient stability.
• Manage inventory by notifying relevant personnel of supply shortages and assist in equipment calibration and maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure setting within an acute care hospital.
• Demonstrate familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring, sterile techniques, and digital cine technology.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; a BS degree is preferred.
• Exhibit strong clinical skills in assisting with cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.
