Job Summary:
The CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care to adult patients recovering from open-heart surgery and other cardiovascular procedures. The role involves delivering expert nursing care, assessing patient conditions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient status through comprehensive assessments and interpretation of cardiac rhythms.
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans tailored to cardiac surgery patients.
• Execute post-operative care, monitor Impella and balloon pump devices, and manage complications.
• Delegate tasks to appropriate care team members and ensure adherence to clinical standards.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately within the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and recovery expectations.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active State Registered Nurse license.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in a CVICU or cardiac specialty unit.
• Certifications in BLS and ACLS through AHA or ARC.
• Demonstrate experience with open heart surgery patients and cardiac devices.
• Be proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and have Epic EMR experience.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking and collaborative skills.
